Dayton Freight Lines Announced as 2014 Thomasholmes Carrier Partner of the Year

Thomasholmes Hosted Executives and Staff of Dayton Freight Lines Inc. at the Corporate Headquarters Presenting the Carrier Partner of the Year Award at an Evening Gala

(Eagan, MN) – Thomasholmes, Inc., a North American third party logistics company with a focus on North American over the road transportation management, announces they have presented long time carrier partner, with the 2014 Thomasholmes Carrier Partner of the Year Award.

In order to determine a winner for the Carrier Partner of the Year award, the Thomasholmes developed criteria based on two sets of factors. The first set evaluated on-time delivery, percentage claims, invoicing criteria, and partnership. The second set evaluated ease of doing business and technology.

With criteria factors in place, the and Thomasholmes leadership went through our carrier partners’ data, which was made available through our robust transportation management system, the Thomasholmes Rater. Beyond the data available through Thomasholmes transportation technology, the criteria then was put to a subjective grading by gathering the opinions of the internal departments who work frequently with the Thomasholmes carrier partners: the Freight Routing personnel from the freight desk responsible for scheduling pickups, the Customer Service Representatives who work with Carriers on invoice variances and freight claims, and the Freight Data Services team who work with carriers on technology to include EDI for functions such as auto-pickups.

The Carrier Relations team then took the department reviews, the points for each criteria and came to a mutual agreement on the carrier partner to receive the award for the previous year, which in this case was 2014. The carrier partner who stood above the rest for 2014 was Dayton Freight Lines.

For the second year in a row, Thomasholmes hosted the Carrier Partner of the Year winner at the Eagan, MN Corporate Headquarters for a day meeting to discuss even more strategic business conversations and an evening Gala. Representing Dayton Freight Lines were Dave Brady (VP of Sales), Mark Newcomb (corporate account manager for Thomasholmes) and Mike Russell (corporate account manager).  The award presentation was followed by a dinner reception.
